How to order online shopping with Shufersal

If you’ve made aliyah to Israel then one of the first things you might want to do after arriving is … buy yourself some food!

There are a few online supermarkets operating in Israel. Shufersal, which was more than 378 stores across the country at the time of writing, is one of the main ones.

Note: as user interfaces (UIs) change, this information may become outdated. While we’ll try to keep this site as updated as possible, there may be a lag between when we get round to doing that and the information you see here.

How To Register For Shufersal Online

Firstly, you’ll want to register for the site. To make that happen, click on the הרשמה button at the top navigation menu.

If you’re a private customer, then don’t change the toggle setting from לקוח פרטי. Then click on אנא לחץ כאן.

You’ll then be presented with a registration screen. Here are the fields, at the time of writing, translated into English.

Note: if you’re struggling with the Hebrew, you can run blocks of text through Google Translate. If you’re using Google Chrome, then the official Google Translate Chrome add-on can save you a lot of clicking. Grab it from here.

How To Order From Shufersal Online

Let’s say we’re on a shopping mission for cheese and beer — because we all know that these are the staples of a healthy diet.

Firstly, you can use the dropdown menu and navigate by product categories.

Otherwise, you can type what you’re looking for into the search bar. Product recommendations can come up or you can click return to run an actual search.

Adding products to your cart is really easy. When you hover over an item, there’s an ‘add’ button (הוסף) and a quantity toggle.

Now we can see that we have added the cheese to our virtual shopping cart. We can do various things like change the quantity or delete it.

After adding two bottles of beer, I wish to checkout. So I click on the button that says לתשלום.

Then you insert your delivery address. Again, we’ve added the field translations in English:

You’ll have to start typing in Hebrew for the dropdown to fill out:

If you want to set the address you enter as the default for future orders, then tick the box that says הגדר כתובת זה כברירת מחדל

Next, you’ll have to enter your credit card details:

If you’re paying with somebody else’s card then you’ll want to change the slider and you’ll have enter the cardholder’s name.

If you wish to pay in installments (תשלומים) then change the default setting on the מספר תשלומים dropdown.

Finally, you’ll need to tell Shufersal what to do in the event that they’re out of a product that you want:

In the first row (top right above) you can select: send me an SMS if you don’t have something; replace the missing item with a substitution without coordinating with me; don’t make any subtitutions.

That’s about all there is to it. After picking your delivery slot you’ll be set up to receive your order!
